Hotel in Trafoi at the Stelvio Pass, family-run in 4th generation

Where King Ortler towers over a wonderful natural landscape, in the idyllic Trafoi in South Tyrolean Vinschgau, the 4-star Hotel Madatsch combines luxury, elegance and lots of warmth. Over 100 years ago, we created a temporary home that leaves nothing to be desired, whether in the kitchen, the wellness area or of course the many outdoor activities that await directly outside the front door all year round.

By the way: The wellness area and some of our rooms are brand new. So take your time for a real dream vacation in one of the most beautiful corners of South Tyrol!

Good Morning

The smell of freshly brewed coffee and crispy pastries wakes me up in no time in the morning. I help myself at the abundantly laid out buffet to my heart's content and energize myself for the day.

TIME FOR WELLNESS

My holiday at Ortler would not be complete without ending the day in the new wellness area of the Hotel Madatsch. The saunas and the warm water in the pools relax instantly, and a soothing massage is my little gift to myself.

Beautiful Memory

The room with a balcony overlooking the Ortler Mountain was cozy, beautiful, and very clean. The restaurant was not only pleasant, there was a very good 5-course menu every evening, cooked again by the Madatsch family.
Madatsch is a place we will always remember, because of the kindness of the owners, the location and the good food.

The Hotel Madatsch is a great hotel for a family ski vacation. Put on the skis in front of the hotel, a short slope down to the lift, and in the evening descent right to the hotel. The ski area is relatively small but the beautiful hut in the middle of the slopes has a special charm and offers an overwhelming panorama of the Ortler massif.

Very nice hotel in a beautiful valley ideal for trekking activities. The rooms are well organized and recently renovated. The food is a true gastronomic experience, the Michelin Guide should quote them! It's a family business and this is clearly visible in every detail. I felt at home.
